I’m actively looking for new career opportunities, and since September, I’ve applied for more than 70 jobs. This is still a small number, considering I’m applying from Armenia.
Yesterday, I received the notification: “Your application was viewed.” It felt strange because I hadn’t seen this simple message before. I could have ignored it, but I decided to check my job application statuses. I found out that more than 39 of them hadn’t even been opened. I also believe that some applications were automatically rejected just because of my location.
It seems that in the era of AI, we’re being pushed to stop relying on luck by sending applications everywhere. Instead, we should focus on speaking to real people and building a network. Everyone can send an Easy Apply application - so everyone does)
So use LinkedIn mainly to find relevant career websites and connect with HR professionals. Don’t waste time sending messages that no one will read.
